Abstract

" En undersøgelse af Josefus’ fremstilling af Gauius Caligulas konflikt med jøderne i Palæstina (Bell 2, 184-203 og Ant 18, 261-309) med særligt henblik på forfatterens tend."

The work focuses on Josephus' reconstruction of Caligula's attempt to erect a statue in the Jerusalem Temple in 40-42 CE. Bilde argues that Josephus's account is historically more reliable than Philo's.
