Jesucristo Superstar / Jesus Christ Superstar (2007) is the third Spanish stage production & sound recording of Jesus Christ Superstar (1970 Webber / Rice), opera, directed by Stephen Rayne, with Marc Álvarez (musical director) and Ángel Rodríguez (choreographer). New Spanish version of the libretto by Alicia Serrat.
Abstract
The new Spanish production moved the action to a contemporary Middle East setting.
After performing in Madrid (2007-08), the show toured Spain (2008-09).

Production
Premiered in Madrid, Spain: Teatro Lope de Vega, 19 September 2007 (to 8 June 2008). The following Spanish tour ran from 10 September 2008 (Valencia: Teatro Olympia) to 20 June 2009 (Las Palmas: Teatro Cuyás), including several performances in Barcelona: Teatre Apolo, 14-31 March 2009.
