Jean and his two siblings, brother Robert (b.1930) and sister Blanchette (b.1931) were, with Elena Ovazza (b. 1928), the youngest victims of the Lake Maggiore Massacres, when members of the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler murdered at least 57 Jews (predominantly Italian and Greek) in Sept-Oct 1943. Jean Robert and Blanchette perished with their parents.
