Biograhy

Helmut Toronski (Gesseln, 24 Sep 1932) and Herta Toronski (Castelnuovo Garfagnana, 18 Dec 1941) were the children of Samuele Toronski and Marta Fedhardt. From Milan they were sent to Ferramonti and then to Castelnuovo Garfagnana (near Lucca), where they remained until Liberation.

"Fra gli internati al campodi Bagni di Lucca, la famiglia Toronski non è prelevata dai tedeschi il 23 gennaio 1943; viene infatti liberata perché "considerata" mista. I Toronski rientran a Castelnuovo e continuano a percepire il sussidio; poi seguono le vicissitudini degli altri abitanti d Caelnuovo che nell'autunno 1944 sfollano, in seguito ai bmbardamenti che interessano la Garfagnana."
