Henny Porten (F / Germany, 1890-1960) was an actress of the silent era and Germany's first major film star. Born in 1890 in Madgeburg, in 1923 she played Mary of Nazareth in a major movie on the Life of Jesus. During the Nazi era she was blacklisted as she was married to a Jewish husband. Died in 1960 in Berlin (age 70).
