Biography
Hans (now John) Meyerstein is the son of Ludwig and Alice (Eisner) Meyerstein. He was born in Hallem, Germany in 1935. His father was born in 1893 and his mother was born in 1910. In May 1939, Hans and his parents departed Germany aboard the MS St. Louis bound for Cuba. They travelled with Alice's father, Ludwig Eisner, from Breslau. Once the ship was forced to return to Europe, the family disembarked in England.
