Biography

Giza Landau was born in Tarnow, Poland on June 5, 1932, the daughter of Jozef Landau and Erna Beller. Deported with her mother to <Plaszow>, then <Auschwitz> and <Ravensbrück>. They both survived.

"Until June 1942, the author stayed with her grandparents in Dąbrowa Tarnowska, then with her mother in the ghetto in Nowy Sącz, after the liquidation of the ghetto, they got to the ghetto in Tarnów, hiding during the selection. In October 1943, they were transported to the camp in Płaszów, and from there in October 1944 to Auschwitz. In January 1945, they were evacuated to Ravensbrück and there they were liberated."
