Tradition and Composition in the Parables of Enoch (1979) is a book by David W. Suter.

Abstract

"This dissertation began as a redaction-critical study of the myth of the fallen angels in 1 En. 6-11. In the course of research, however, the author concluded that the versions of the myth in the Parables of Enoch were not simply dependent on chapters 6-11 but provided evidence for the state of the tradition, evidence that, in spite of the later date of the Parables (first century A.D. by the author's estimation), had a bearing on the tradition-history behind chapters 6-11. The dissertation thus came to deal with the structure of the Parables itself, the role of the fallen-angel and Noachic material in it, and the relation of the Parables to tradition."--Publisher description.
