Barabbas: A Dream of the World's Tragedy (1893) is a novel by Marie Corelli.

Abstract

The story of the betrayal and crucifixion of Christ connects the characters of Judas Iscariot and Barabbas. Their motives are attributed to sexual passion or patriotic zeal, not to the religious hatred of the Jews, as it was according to the predominant theological view of the time.

Editions

Published in London [England]: Meuthuen; and Philadelphia, PA: Lippencott, 1893.

Translations

Translated into several European languages, including German, French, Dutch, Russian, Swedish, Norwegian, and Romanian.
