Biography

Eugene Ginter was born February 1939 in Krakow, Poland. Under Nazi Occupation of Poland, he was in the Plaszow Ghetto, Plaszow concentration Camp, Gross-Rosen, Brunniltz and Birkenau. He was liberated January 27, 1945 in Auschwitz, 12 days before his 6th birthday. "To this day I still have Night Terror and dreams. [Auschwitz] was a nightmare."

After liberation Eugene was sent to a hospital in Krakow and then to a Jewish Orphanage. Mother (who survived with Schindler) found him there. They traveled to Czechoslovakia and then to Austria and found Father (who was liberated in Mauthausen). The family stayed in Schweinfurt, Germany until 1950, when they emigrated to the United States. Eugene became a Mechanical Engineer.
