ספר נתיבות השלום / The Paths of Peace (1780-83) is a book by Moses Mendelssohn.

Abstract

German translation of the Masoretic Text of the Torah by Moses Mendelssohn in Hebrew characters.

It was the first "modern" translation of the Torah and his enterprise generated a lot of controversy. Orthodox rabbis united forces, and in June, 1779, issued a ban against the proposed project of "the German Pentateuch of Moses of Dessau."
