The Song of Hannah (2005) is a novel by Eva Etzioni-Halevy.

Abstract

"Hannah, the epitome of goodness and grace; Pninah, passionate and independent. Each is educated and beautiful, but it is their differences that attract the man who will marry them both, turning them from friends into rivals. Pninah easily bears Elkanah many children, but bitter that he has taken a second wife, finds happiness in a secret affair. Hannah is singularly devoted to Elkanah, but remains childless for many years, until a promise to God brings her the child she has yearned for, a son she is obligated to return to the service of her people, the great Israelite prophet Samuel."--Publisher's description.
