According to Christian traditions, Relics of Mary Magdalene are preserved in some locations, notably, in France and the United States.

Overview

There is no major location in which the remains of Mary Magdalene are claimed to be preserved. Small fragments of her body are said to be housed in several churches and sanctuaries, including:

  • Cluniac Abbey at Vezelay [France]
  • Basilica of St. Maximin at Villalata [France] -- The relic is preserved in a tomb above an altar in the crypt
  • Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City, Utah.
