Caphatabira was a fortified city in Upper Idumea.

Overview

Caphatabira is mentioned by Josephus as one of fortified places taken by Roman military commander Cerialis during the Jewish War in the summer 69. Unlike Caphethra and Hebron, the city surrendered peacefully.
