John Lillie (1812-1867) was a Scottish American scholar.

Biography

John Lillie was born in Kelso, Scotland, on December 16, 1812. A graduate at the University of Edinburgh in 1833, studied theology in that city, and then, coming to the United States, at the New Brunswick Seminary. Served as Pastor in various churches in the New York area, and worked as a translator and author in the field of NT studies. Died in Kingston, New York, in February 1867.
