Eleazar Sukenik (1889-1953) was an Israeli scholar.
Biography
Archaeologist. Born in Bialystok, Poland, arrived to Israel in 1911. Professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The father of Yigael Yadin.
Works on Second Temple Judaism
Sukenik played a central role in the early stages of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls and in the establishment of the Essene Hypothesis.
