Niccolò Manucci (Venice, Italy, 1638 - India, 1717) - Traveller. Spent his entire adult life in India.

Born in Venice, Manucci reached India as a teenager with his uncle. He would spend his entire adult life there, until his death. His account of the Mughal Empire is considered to be one of the most useful foreign sources for the events that took place in India under Mughal rule. He also documented folk beliefs and customs of the period.
