Brian Walton (1600-1661) was a British scholar, clergyman, Bishop of Chester, editor-in-chief of the Polyglot Bible (including the Old Testament Apocrypha) in Hebrew, Aramaic, Samaritan, Syrica, Arabic, Persian, Ethipic, Greek, and Latin. Among his collaborators were James Ussher, John Lightfoot, Edward Pococke, Edmund Castelli, Abraham Wheelocke, Patrick Young, Thomas Hyde, and Thomas Greaves.
