Mary Redington Ely Lyman (1887-1975) was an American scholar. Born in Vermont, Mary Lyman received her PhD (1924) from the University of Chicago. One of the first American women professors in the field of New Testament Studies, taught at Vassar, Barnard, Sweet Bryar Colleges, and finally in 1950, was named Jesup Professor of English Bible at Union Seminary.
