Henry Pereira Mendes (1852-1937) was a British-born Jewish-American playwright. Born in Birmingham, England. Rabbi. Moved to live in the United Staes in 1877. Professor at Jewish Theological Seminary. Among the founders and leaders of American Orthodox Judaism.
