Monsieur de Voltaire (François-Marie Arouet; 1694-1778) was a French playwright, on of the most influential philosopher, novelist, and man of letters of the French Enlightment. Born Francois-Marie Arouet in Paris on November 21, 1694. Died in Paris on 30 May, 1778
