Overview
In spite of her strong success in fictional works, Mariamne has only a very limited presence in the movies. She is only co-protagonist of the film Erode il grande (1959) and of a 1965 TV production of Hebbel's drama. A contributing factor is certainly the progressive lack of interest in the character in popular culture in the 20th century.
