Walter Lowrie (1868-1959) was an American scholar. Born April 26, 1868 in Philadelphia, PA, Lowrie graduated in 1890 from Princeton College and went on to Princeton Theological Seminary, obtaining a master's degree in divinity in 1893. For twenty-three years, 1907-1930, he served as the Rector of St. Paul's American Church in Rome [Italy]. Lowrie died at Princeton Hospital on August 12, 1959.
