Overview

In April 1965 the Scrolls from Cave 1 were permanently accommodated at the Israel Museum of Jerusalem in the Shrine of the Book. The international popularity of the Dead Sea Scrolls was enhanced by three major exhibitions, held at the National Museum of Natural History, Washington, DC (February 27 - March 21, 1965), at the University of Pennsylvania Museum, Philadelphia, PA (April 3-25, 1965), and at the British Museum London, England (December, 1965).
