Józef Tadeusz Milik (1922-2006) was a Polish scholar.

Biography

Born in Seroczyn, Poland. Was ordered as a Catholic priest in 1946 in Warsaw. A student of the Pontifical Oriental Institute and the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, became the driving force behind the publication of the Dead Sea Scrolls. In 1969 left the priesthood and settled in Paris at the Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique, until his retiment in 1987.
