Cornelius Cornelii a Lapide (Cornelis Cornelissen van den Steen; 1567-1637) was a Flemish NT scholar, a Jesuit priest and a professor at Leuven. His knowledge of Hebrew, Greek, Latin, theology, classical philology and Church history made him one of the greatest interpreters of the 17th century. Wrote a commentary to all books of the Christian Bible (including OT Apocrypha), except Job and Psalms.
