Sisto da Siena / Sixtus of Siena (1520-1569) was an Italian scholar of Jewish descent.

Biography

Sisto was born in Siena, Tuscany [Italy] in 1520 into a Jewish family. He converted to Christianity and entered the Franciscan Order. After being accused of heresy, he was pardoned by Pious V and joined the Domenican Order.

Sisto died in Genoa, Liguria [Italia] in 1569.
