David Friedrich Megerlin (1698-1778) was a German scholar.

Biography

David Friedrich Megerlin was born 1698 in Württemberg, Königsbronn.

A Protestant theologian, he was author of the seventh German translation of the Qur'an, notably the first from the original Arabic. His work was marred by strong anti-Islam biases.
