Zenon Papyri are a series of documents, letters, etc. from the archives of Zenon (261-252 BCE).

Overview

A large cache of about 2000 ancient documents were discovered in the winter of 1914-1915 in Egypt on the site of the ancient city of Philadelpia (around modern Kom el-Kharaba). These papyri were the archive of Zenon, who in the third century BCE served in the Ptolemaic financial administration.

The Zenon Papyri are now divided between numerous museums, institutions and collections, including the University of Michigan, Columbia University, the Societa' Italiana per la Ricerca dei Papiri, and the British and Cairo Museums.
