Nelson Glueck (1900-1971) was an American Jewish scholar and archaeologist.

Biography

Born in Cincinnati, OH, Nelson Glueck was ordained as a Reform rabbi in 1923 and in 1926 received his PhD from the University of Jena, Germany. After joining the Faculty of the Hebrew Union College, he moved to the land of Israel where he remained during WW2. From 1947 until his death he served as President of the Hebrew Union College.
