Salome Alexandra (139-67) was a member of the Hasmonean dynasty. After the death of her husband Alexander Jannaeus), she ruled as Queen of Judea from 76 to 67 BCE, while High Priest was her son John Hyrcanus II, who was designated to succeeded her as King of Judea but was overpowered by his brother Aristobulus II.
