Southampton Children (see Holocaust Children Studies)

Overview

After the Windermere Children (August 1945), a second group of 152 child survivors arrived in England in late October and early November 1945. They are known as the Southampton Children.

The 152 children were selected from three different locations: the displaced persons’ camp in Belsen-Hohne in the British occupied zone of Germany (47 of them had survived the imprisonment in Bergen-Belsen), the Feldafing Displaced Persons’ Camp and the Kloster Indersdorf International DP Children’s Camp, both in the US zone in Bavaria.
