Joseph Cataldo (1837-1928) -- Jesuit priest

Born in Terresini (Sicily), Cataldo joined the Jesuits in 1852. He was sent to the foreign mission in the Rocky Mountains in the United States. In 1887 he established Gonzaga College, now Gonzaga University. He continued his mission among Native Americans. Died at the Umatilla Indian Reservation, east of Pendleton, OR.
