Overview

Dogs are present in many movies. In some of them they become protagonists.

  • My Pal Wolf (1944) -- A girl with a strict governess heads to Washington to purchase her dog from the Secretary of War.
  • Sergeant Mike (1944) -- A soldier made into a dog handler falls in love with the mother of the dog's owner and both achieve fame in the Pacific.
  • Son of Lassie (1945) -- Laddie (Son of Lassie !) and his master are trapped in Norway during WW2 - has he inherited his mothers famous courage ?
  • The Silent Call (1961) -- When young Guy Brancato's parents have to move from Elko, Nevada to Los Angeles, California, they are unable to take Guy's dog Pete. Guy is angry at his parents and even more distressed when he learns that Pete has run away from the neighbor who was tending him. But Pete has plans to travel to Los Angeles on his own.
  • Clown (1968) <short> -- This is a silent short film about a young boy who loses his dog and frantically searches for him until he finds him in a bittersweet reunion.
