Abstract
The film focuses on Pontius Pilate's most momentous decision told from his point of view.
On 2 April 1939, the TV play Caesar's Friend had been the first fictional work of biblical subject to be aired on television; see Caesar's Friend (1939 BBC), TV film.
After suspending its programs during WW2, BBC resumed its activities on 7 June 1946. A second version of the same play was broadcast on 1 May 1947 with some members of the original cast.
