James A. Montgomery (1866-1949) was an American scholar. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he earned his degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was Instructor and then Professor of Hebrew and Aramaic from 1899 to his retirement in 1938. He died in Philadelphia, PA on February 6, 1949.
