The category: Chinese, highlights the national identity of scholars and authors, associated with China and Chinese language and culture.

Overview

The Chinese (Han Chinese) are an ethnic group that primarily inhabit China and speak the Chinese language (around 1,300 million). They are the single largest ethnic group in the world.

Most Chinese today live within the borders of independent China (circa 1,200,000, including Taiwan and Hong Kong). There are large Chinese minorities in nearby Asian countries, and sizeable populations of immigrants and their descendants in the United States, Canada, Peru, Australia, and other countries.
