Demetrius and the Gladiators (1954) is a film directed by Delmer Daves.

Abstract

A direct sequel to The Robe told the story of the Greek slave Demetrius, now free, and of how he loses his faith in God and becomes Messalina's lover, and then finds his faith again. The first American spectacular to raise seriously the question of doubt. Starring Victor Mature (Demetrius). Grossed over $4 million in the United States alone.
