The Annunciation to Mary refers to an episode in the lives of Mary of Nazareth and Jesus of Nazareth. The episode is narrated only in the Gospel of Luke (1:26-38) and later Christian Tradition.
Overview
In the Gospel of Luke, the Annunciation to Mary takes the role that in the Gospel of Matthew is played by the Annunciation to Joseph. It was Mary (not Joseph) who received the revelation of the true identity of the child.
