Biography
In 48 CE, Ventidius Cumanus succeeded Tiberius Alexander as Roman Procurator of Judea, while Ananias ben Nebedeus was confirmed the High Priest. Cumamus proved to be less effective than his predecessor. His tenure was marked by a series of crisis, violence and unwise decisions, so much so that at the end Cumanius was removed from office and sent into exile. In 52 CE Marcus Antonius Felix replaced Cumanius.
