Ulrich Jasper Seetzen (1767-1811) was a German scholar.

Biography

German explorer. Traveled extensively in the Middle East.

Works on Second Temple Judaism

Seetzen identified the ruins of Caeserea Philippi (Banias), Machaerus, Gerasa (Jerash), and Mampsis in the Negev.
