Ernest John Tinsley (1919-1992) was a British scholar.
Biography
Tinsley studied at the University of Durham. From 1946 to 1962 he was a Lecturer in Theology at University College, Hull and from 1962 to 1975 Professor of Theology at the University of Leeds. He was then appointed Bishop of Bristol, 1976-1985.
