James Parkes (1896-1981) was a British scholar.
Biography
Theologian, historian. Pioneer of Jewish-Christian dialogue. Dedicated himself to the study of, and fight against, Anti-Semitism. Second Temple Judaism was at the center of his interest as the cradle of both the Church and the Synagogue, and therefore also of their conflicts. His legacy is carried on by the Parkes Institute at the University of Southampton, England.
