Stanley E. Porter (b.1956) is an American Canadian scholar. He graduated from Point Loma College (BA), Claremont Graduate School (MA), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MA), and earned his PhD from the University of Sheffield in 1988. From 1994 he was Professor of Theology and Head of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at Roehampton University, London. He is now Professor of New Testament at McMaster Divinity College (Hamilton, ON), Canada.
