Gerhard Kittel (1888-1948) was a German scholar.

Biography

Protestant theologian, son of Rudolf Kittel. Professor of New Testament Theology at Tübingen from 1926 to 1945. After 1933 an editor of the Theologisches Wörterbuch zum Neuen Testament. Controversial figure for his virulent anti-Semitism. and his membership in the Nazi Party.
