Salome (1972) is a feature film (sound, color, 73m), directed by Carmelo Bene.
Abstract
One of the most controversial versions of Wilde’s Salome story begins with Jesus Christ being tortured and mocked, and eventually crucifying himself on the cross. The story then switches to John the Baptist and Salome, the latter obtaining the former's death because he rejects her. Starring Carmelo Bene and Lydia Mancinelli.
Production
Produced in Italy (1972).
