Ecce Homo is an event in the Trial of Jesus before Pilate, when Jesus was presented by Pilate to the crowd after the Flagellation. Very similar to the iconography of the Ecce Homo is that of the Man of Sorrow, where however the figure of the suffering Jesus is completely removed and isolated from his "historical" context and offered to the veneration of the believers.
