Amahl and the Night Visitors (1952) is a children's novel by Frances Frost, illustrated by Roger Duvoisin. Based on Amahl and the Night Visitors (1951 Menotti), opera.
Abstract
Very popular narrative adaptation of Gian Carlo Menotti’s opera by American poet and novelist preserves the exact dialogue of the libretto.
Editions and translations
Published in the United States (New York, NY: 1952). Translated into French, German and Spanish. Reissued in the 1980s, with illustrations by Michele Lemieux.
