Jusepe Martínez (1600-1682) was a Spanish artist.

Biography

Born in Zaragozza in 1600, Martínez was sent to study in Italy in 1623. He met, among others, Guido Reni and in 1625 in Naples Jusepe de Ribera. In 1627 went back to Spain where he pursued a successful career as painter, gaining the support of Velázquez. He died in Zaragozza in 1682.
