Adolph Jellinek was born June 26, 1821 at Drslavice in Bohemia (now Czech Republic).
 
After filling clerical posts in Leipzig (1845–1856), he became a preacher at the Leopoldstädter Tempel in Vienna in 1856. He was a rabbi, preacher, psychologist and scholar of Talmudic and midrashic literature.  
 
Jellinek died December 28, 1893 in [[Vienna, Austria]].
